darling i'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream (;

mrs. halfen challenged us this week to take 5 personality tests. if i didn't already know my personality was slightly crappy, i needed a test to confirm that. i'm kidding!! anyways, here are my results.

Jung Typology Test

i've taken a test like this before and have gotten similar results. the test offers a variety of questions, with some asking how you react to certain situations, some asking about your morality, etc. my result was "esfj", meaning i have qualities of the extroverted, sensitive, feeling, and judgmental. i was not too surprised at these results, since my personality matches up.  i would consider this test pretty valid since it bases its results off of multiple subject areas instead of one.

Attraction Test

this test caught my attention. i always told myself that i had a type, and i wanted to see if this test confirmed that type. the results told me that i prefer rebelliousness as much as the average person (moderately), i am somewhat attracted to seductiveness, cheerfulness is relatively unimportant (whaaat??), intelligence is not really what i'm looking for (this can't be right), and i strongly prefer those who are trendy. honestly, this test didn't hit the major points i was looking for. it was based on my liking to a bunch of outdated pictures of men, which doesn't really determine who i'm attracted to (sorry!).

Hogwarts Sorting Quiz

i always love taking these tests! i always got the same result (hufflepuff), but i wanted to see if this in-depth test would differ. the test offered around 100 questions evaluating your personality and determining what you would do in certain scenarios. much to my surprise, i got slytherin, the house that contains the cunning and resourceful. i never thought i would ever get this result, because i never associated myself with those traits. however, this test certainly opened my eyes to some qualities i never thought i possessed.

Implicit Associative Test

i was scared to take a test determining whether i was racist. i would like to think i'm not, but there was only one way to find out. much to my satisfaction, i have no preference between europeans and african americans. the testing style was interesting, and i don't know how it determined my result. it was created by a program from harvard, so it must be pretty valid!

The Dark Side of Personality

(whoops i forgot to take a picture of my results!!)

this test "measures the dark triad traits of machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy". the results stated that i had a moderate level of narcissism (thinking highly of oneself), a somewhat high level of machiavellianism (concern with social image), and a low level of psychopathy (impulsiveness). i would say these results are pretty accurate, especially pertaining to machiavellianism, because i have been particularly conscious of how i act around others. this test just comes to show my weaknesses in personality and what i need to work on.

here's an article that explains what determines our personality! i found many of the psychologists' findings to be true, so give it a read and see what you think!
